Well, it's been too long since I updated my journal, so here we go!
A lot of my summer has been spent either hanging around at home or with friends. I also did more job searching, but aside from getting a few interviews, I've still had no luck! So the majority of "work" I've done has consisted of odd-jobs and volunteering.
In July, I got to experience the Vancouver Chinatown Night Market for the first time. Pretty great stuff there for nice prices! Later in the month, I went to a lantern festival with a couple friends, and got to see some awesome lanterns (duh!) and a wicked fire dancing show.
Also, I bought Morrowind, Skyrim, and Fallout New Vegas. Oh my god, these games are amazing! (Addicting too!)
August started with celebrating my dad's birthday. We went out for dinner at an excellent Mexican restaurant and then went to Bard on the Beach (find out more about BotB here:
www.bardonthebeach.org/) to see Twelfth Night, it was hilarious!
The highlight of August so far was with the 2013 Roots and Blues Festival in Salmon Arm, BC, where I got to see some awesome performances from bands/musicians like Ky-Mani Marley, Bruce Cockburn, Daniel Lanois, and City and Colour (plus many more!). It was great getting to return and experience the excitement, the last time being back in 2009.
There's still a bit more summer left, and I'm planning to go to the PNE and the Vancouver Zombie Walk within that time! Then it's back to college come September.
Well that about wraps things up, so until next time, ciao!
